A quieter and far south Costa Blanca resort (it just sneaks into the Costa Blanca), Torrevieja has much to offer for all inclusive family holidays. A large waterpark - the Aquopolis is nearby, plus Torrevieja has some pretty beaches with fine sand and good facilities. Main beaches Locos and Cura have calm waters with adjacent delightful promenade.

Torrevieja is closely associated with salt production. The two enormous salt lakes in its midst give this resort a natural twist. To find out more head for the sea and salt museum within the town (weblink right).
In August Torrevieja really comes to live with the Habanera Festival which celebrates the distinctive Spanish listing songs brought to the town from Cuban salt exporters in the 19th century. Torrevieja's links with its salt flats, the oldest in Europe is a fascinating history explored in its Salt and Sea Museum and other ethnographic museums within the town.
The salt flats today around Torrevieja and La Mata are protected natural parks, crammed with bird life - around 250 species have been recorded in the area.
