The superb choice of family attractions include the mammoth Mijas Aquapark, Torremolinos Crocodile Park, Tivoli World Show and Amusement Park, Sea Life Aquarium in Benalmadena, and boat trips from Benalmadena Marina, not to mention Fuengirola Zoo, mini golf and amusements, watersports, pedalos, Fuengirola Zoo, Estepona Adventure Animal Park, the spectacular Nerja caves, day trips to Gibraltar and Granada - you get the idea! A receipe for resort holiday success indeed alongside those peak warm summer temperatures reaching into the 30s centigrade.
You've a choice of nightly glamour packed shows too in venues like Benalmadena's Casino Torrequebrada. Don't miss the Benalmadena Cable car ride up to Mount Calamorro (boarding is beside Tivoli World Amusement Park in Benalmadena). The Benalmadena City Sightseeing open top bus tour (hop on, hop off) stops at the marina on its sightseeing route around the main sights of Benalmadena. Highly recommended to get your bearings, the City Sightseeing tour tickets last for 24 hours and you can hop off and on at your leisure during that timeframe. Fully disabled friendly, the route starts at Plaza Solymar just up from Benalmadena Marina and scoots along the coast then up to Selwo Marina, Parque de la Paloma and the Tivoli Teleferico cable car ride.
Torremolinos' huge Aqualand waterpark sits just 10 minutes from the centre and promises a whole days worth at least of water fun. New attraction - the Boomerang (see Aqualand's weblink right for photos of hair-raising Boomerang ride) is just one of the superb water rides and slides available here. Other favourites include the Black Hole involving plunging for over 100 metres round dark water lined bends. Plenty on here too for the tots including a mini park all in one swimming pool with mini slides and mock castle. The highest Kamikaze water slide in Europe is here at 22metres. You'll need to recover in the calm waters of the Laguna Tropical or relax in the Jacuzzi after than one. A gift shop, snack food outlets and restaurants, ice cream stands and even a photo processing lab are all on-site, as well as garden areas and adjacent car park with surveillance.

Family fun waterparks don't get much better than the huge Aquapark just 20km from Torremolinos to the north of Fuengirola. (with car hire see the easy to follow map on the Aquapark website right, or tap into direct coach trip excursions from Torremolinos resort - there's a huge choice in the various excursion outlets dotted about the resort).You may well be keen to make a couple of visits to this superb Costa Del Sol Waterpark during your holiday - there's so many rides including a big wave pool, wild river, body ski, kamikaze slides and wild river. Plenty for the tots here too in the kiddie play area and Lizard's Island. Shows run daily including free aerobic water activities and dance and music shows. A restaurant, bar, gift shop, changing rooms, mini golf, rock climbing complex, games arcade, picnic area and deckchairs are all available on-site too. Guaranteed family fun in the sun. A little closer to Torremolinos is the whooper of an amusement park - Tivoli World in neighbouring Benalmadena. Hold onto your sun hats as Tivoli promises a mega amusement park adventure. There's a mix of entertainments here including numerous funfair styled rides (knuckle ones for the daring and mini rides for the tots). The 60m sheer vertical drop of the relatively new Caida Libre is particularly hair-raising.
There's a funfair feel here at Tivoli with old favourites like a big wheel, Twisters, Swing Boats and little carousel rides for younger visitors. Alongside this are a host of shows including flamenco dancing in the Andalusian Square, Wild West whoops in the Western Square with best barbecue Texas Grill inclusive and for smaller children the children's theatre and thematic Tivoli Landia Square performances. Also on-site are is the Tivoli Garden area, a rather jazzy botanic gardens, the model train exhibit and the Jurassic exhibit with lifesize model dinosaurs!
Adjacent to the Tivoli World Amusement park is the Benalmedena Aerial Cable car which climbs its gentle ascent 2600 metres from Benalmadena upto Mount Calamorro. The ride takes around 15 minutes and the views of the Costa Del Sol Coast and interior along the way and at the peak are spectacular and not to be missed! On a clear day you're likely to make out the African continent in the distance from the top! Arriving at the top there's an exhibition on birds of prey - Mount Calamorro is home to eagles, falcons, owls and vultures. plus there's a Spanish dressage riding exhibition and numerous walking and mountain bike trails for exploring the site in-depth. Well you might pass on the 'opportunity to hold a live crocodile' offered in the Torremolinos Crocodile Park's leaflet, you'll learn quite a lot about crocodiles here at the park where around 300 Crocs life from baby crocs to the big 5 metre long Big Nile Crocodiles.
The Big Daddy 600 kg monster croc living here at the park is claimed to be Europe's biggest crocodile. The croc's nursery is a highlight. Other animals are to be found in the Pet's Corner and Prairie Dogs as well as exotic birds, Raccoons and emu are on-site.

Just adjacent to Benalmadena Marina sits the Sea Life Benalmadena attraction. Essentially a large aquarium with around 3000 marine creatures including turtles in the Turtle Reef zone. Other zones include the Tropical Lagoon, the Mediterranean Sea and Amazonia.
With a genuine educational slant, also on-site are other entertainments such as mini golf plus a shop and cafe. Other popular family holiday attractions within easy reach include Fuengirola Zoo, a recreation of a tropical forest. Fuengirola Zoo is involved in around 35 European endangered species breeding programmes. Checkout the zoo's website right for details. To get here and to Benalmadena you can join an excursion direct from your hotel, or simply hop aboard regular buses running towards Benalmadena and Fuengirola from Torremolinos bus station.
The further afield Costa Del Sol excursion choice is excellent. It's easy to hook into excursions for dolphin watching and the cable car ride in Gibraltar, day trips to stunning inland Ronda and even more adventurous trips to Granada, Cordoba and even Seville are easily accessed with the many excursion outlets based here in this busy Costa Del Sol resort. With car hire trips out from Torremolinos to historic locations such as Granada demand a day really, as does Cordoba and Gibraltar. With visits to Seville your probably best grabbing a night's stay there.
